That's a good way to describe it -- a drunken fog. But that's the way I was living for over 20 years -- in a drunken fog. lol Like you said, I don't know how I kept my job either. After I got sober, my sponsor said I had to make amends to my boss and co-workers. So I did -- and they were all STUNNED that I was a drunk!! They all swore to God that they didn't have a clue!

Now, I'm not sure I'm buying that, but my boss isn't a good liar, and HE really didn't know! Amazing.

Anyway -- Sober is the amazing thing. Just thinking about getting drunk now turns my stomach. UGH!
