Hi purple, and welcome.

All the stuff you wrote about certainly does seem totally consistent with Borderline, as your psychologist suggested. I don't see anything outside of the Borderline umbrella, but of course I am not a professional. I have a dear friend that deals with these things, and have seen that it is very hard for him. (So I've read a bunch to better understand.) Have you ever heard of DBT? It was specifically created to help people with Borderline to deal with things better. I've also read that there is thought of changing the name to Emotional Regulation Disorder. From what I've seen, it is a more appropriate name, for the feelings are so intense and hard to control. My friend gets quite distraught and frustrated with himself because of not being better able to control the power his emotions have over him and how they negatively impact his ability to deal with things. DBT is all about understanding interactions and the thought patterns that lead to one's reactions and learning approaches and techniques to help one better navigate. Others can better elaborate. I cannot speak from personal experience, because I do not have Borderline and have not done DBT. I can only speak from what I have heard from others. Many have said they found it useful. There are many on PC that will be able to relate to your experience (there is also a forum that is specially for folks dealing with Borderline -- have you checked it out?). It can be good just knowing one is not alone.

Wishing you luck.
