No, not everything was better in "the good old days". But I miss the respect and common courtesy. Hell common sense. Three of my work friends and I went to the movies last night. In the theater there were 2 couples, and another set of four people. A group of four teenagers came in. There was a WHOLE theater that they could have sat in. Of the 100 or so seats, all but 12 were empty. Where did they decide to sit? RIGHT BEHIND US! With their feet on the seats behind us right in our faces. Talking with each other and cell phone beeps going off non-stop. Dropping the F bomb every other word. A "can you please get your feet out of my face" was met with a round of giggles. The feet were removed for about five minutes. One of my friends turned around and asked "do you know how RUDE this is?" Another round of giggles. And how DO they keep those damn pants up?!?! I do not wish to see your underwear!

This is what I miss. I miss common courtesy. Maybe it's because I was raised in a small town. I was related to 90% of them, so any misbehavior was reported to my parents before I got home. I said the F word in front of my mother when I was 30 YEARS OLD and she slapped me in the mouth. Good night! If my mother had heard I was at the movie theater just swearing I'd still be pooping bubbles!
