I will be 45 in just a few days. I've noticed some changes in the past few years, although blood and urine tests I took a few weeks ago came back normal (however, I'm going to call them and get more specifics). I still get my period monthly, although not always when I expect it. It's been early a few times. It's not as heavy as it used to be (but still enough that it's messy). When I first got it at age 11, for a few years, I would start, then after two or three days, it would stop (or the flow would get very light), then start up again (kind of heavy) for like one more day or two as it finished. That cycle has been happening again to me, although I'm noticing I don't always stop all the way lately.

My mom told me that her period stopped completely at age 44, and she's baffled why I haven't hit menopause yet. What can I say, Mom? We're two different people! LOL!

I hate dealing with my period, but I don't look forward to menopause (except for the stopping of menstruating). My sex drive is much lower than it used to be and this upsets me greatly. I worry that when my period stops for good, it'll be even lower. My pdoc gave me a pill to try (apparently an allergy med) to help with sex drive, but I haven't tried it yet. I'm only supposed to take it two or three hours before I want to masturbate (my boyfriend hasn't been interested in years, but that's another story). It has side effects that I don't want, if the goal is to get aroused. Also, I just want my sex drive back; I don't want to take a pill when I'm not already aroused. But I'm just complaining...never mind me.
