Thanks everyone!

The appointment went fairly decently, but since it was only with a family doctor (who I really don't think has much experience in dealing with mental illness) she said that she's going to wait to proceed with any medications until I meet with my psychologist on the 12th. (That and she expressed that she'd be more comfortable putting me on one medication at a time and I, just today, was also diagnosed officially with hypertension. Awesome.)
Until then, my diagnosis according to them is an "unspecified episodic mood disorder". Really? I mean, really?? Let's just call a spade, a spade. Come on. Whatever... moving on... </momentary rage>
There was about a 10 minute stretch during the appointment where she went on and on about needing to be in a "controlled, safe environment" so that I can get well. And because I live in a different county from where her office was located at, she offhandedly mentioned that I'd be in my home county's mental hospital system rather than the one she worked with. I was convinced she was sending me to a hospital. Like... I would have put money on it, and I'm not a gambling person at all.
In short, no, she didn't send me to the hospital, and I have to wait two weeks until I see the psychologist. Everything is headed in the right direction, it's just taking SO long to get there. :/
