I really like training the herding breeds though (my last dog was one). Maybe it'll be a rescue next time around, but I'd really like to bring a Dobermann back into the family. Guess I'll have to increase my walking distance if I don't want a Dobe bouncing off the walls.

My first Belgian and now this one, (if that's what she is) are incredibly active dogs. It takes a lot of running to wear one down to a point where she's pleasant inside. My first quite literally ate my Commercial Law book and my Christmas tree AND our sofa. This one has been easier because we live on a farm and she has other dogs and the horses to herd. On the upside, they are BRILLIANT and I adore that. The downside of the brilliance is if they decide what you are asking is stupid, they probably won't comply. Still, they are my favorites.
