So, I have some problems with memory, learning, and concentration. I don't really have a specific diagnosis for whatever is going on, but I know that they're there. It might partially be related to the fact my mom smoked while she carried me. If you're unaware of the effect that can have there are some studies at toxsci.oxfordjournals.org/content/116/2/364.full to clue you in. I'm not allowed to post links yet, but it's not an advertisement or anything.
At this point I have difficulty reading through that sort of thing, and I seem to be getting worse. What I'm wondering is if there's anything I can do to help myself deal with my problems. I tried a nicotine patch and that certainly helped with focus and drive, but I have borderline high blood pressure and nicotine is a vasoconstrictor. I was prescribed Provigil as a trial before. That helped greatly with concentration but it kept me up all night. Anyway, that's a prescription drug and I'm looking for a way to help myself.
I guess I'm wondering if anybody has figured out a way to improve their circumstances if they have these problems, especially if they are related to Neonatal nicotine exposure.
