That's one reason why my husband and are are not going to have any children. He has it too. Imagine how much we'd screw up a child then consider the genetics? No way!

That isn't to say that people with bipolar cant be great parents but, it's a big part of why I couldn't. Remember though environment plays a part in both whether a person will develop it and also how successfully they cope with it if it does develop. You've got a kid now so, don't worry about the genetics that part is done. Raise 'em right.
