I have noticed things gradually. It took me awhile to register that he has a blue carpet, and what color the sofas actually are (I knew right away that they are a soft mcirofiber fabric though). I took note of the photographs and art he has on the walls right away, though. Something I gave to him is hung on the wall, so I wonder (out of simple curiosity) if any of the other things are from patients, too.
Little story, I was recently drawing a blank on what to say so in desperation to fill the silence, I made the mistake of commenting on some figurines in a cabinet that I truly had never looked at before (not even not noticed, I never physically walked to the cabinet to see them until that day). It turned into this big discussion of me insisting that the figurines didn't mean anything to me and him kind of pushing me to see some significance in them and that must lead to some insight
