Hyperventilation syndrome - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This should answer a lot of your questions!
I get the prickly/tingly on my neck, hands, and sometimes face (although face will usually feel numb.) To me, feeling like I can't get enough air is a big deal, it has started and escalated panic attacks and is usually what convinces me that I might die. Anything that makes me short breathed can make me anxious, along with the heavy chested feeling I can get from alcohol.
I have heard that these sensations can be caused by the imbalance of oxygen/carbon dioxide caused by hyperventilation.
