I think as long as the buttons are positive they are fine. A "dislike" button would be bad.
I agree with Dark Heart X.... I like the new option. I'm big on options. LOL. "Like" is different from "Thanks".
I would select like if I like the persons post. I would thank them if I thought something in their post was helpful to me.
