What you described reminded me of a French author who wrote a book by blinking one eye. So i looked up diseases that result in deteriorating muscles. Has anyone ever suggested that you have something called:

Duchenne muscular dystrophy
Pseudohypertrophic muscular dystrophy; Muscular dystrophy - Duchenne type

It also is called DMD.
