My cat sometimes tries to lick and eat things it shouldnt like toilet paper, painted walss and so on. when I took him to t he vet the vet told me it was the equivelent of a pregenat woman craving things like sucking on metal objects, eating dirt. it happens because of lack of iron in pregnant women. so the vet took blood tests and it turned out the food my cat was on was not keeping his nutrients - vitamins and minerals up where it should be. he was basically reacting from being anemic and needing the ingrediants that paint and toilet paper have to make up for his nutricional loss. I changed cat food to one with higher fiber,cerial and so on counts and my cat no longer eats toilet paper, licks my walls and so on very often and when he does I know to add more food with higher iron and fiber to his diet. canned tuna or canned cat food fish fixes it every time for my cat.
