Zyprexa is pretty much the go-to med for manic episodes where my pdoc practices, but staying on it (as I did for several months) is not good for the waistline. It also sucks to be a diabetic on Z because it does horrible things to blood sugar control. Where I work, however, we often use PRN Seroquel, which seems to be helpful.

Trazodone 150 mg
Zyprexa 7.5 mg
