My mom couldn't afford stuff--we were on welfare. She fed me apples and peanut butter. Or celery and peanut butter. Or fried tortillas with cheese and sometimes put whatever vegetables we had in the 'fridge on top. We were so poor that we'd eat baked potatoes for dinner for a week. Sometimes I'd have ketchup and mayonnaise sandwiches for lunch. Not saying those last two things are totally fine but the point is, I'm pretty sure you're doing right by your kids. You don't need to feed them like, quinoa or starfruit to be an awesome mom. As long as you're not feeding them gummy bears and marshmallows with Coke for dinner, you're probably doing fine.
