If it were my dream, I'd think I was feeling my father had killed my mother to/for me in getting the divorce (your mother dead in your room/space) and the "family" (happy, public, car wash) and that I did not understand why or did not support/"believe" his reason (fairy).

Did you live with your mother afterwards or your father? If with your mother, could be you were absorbing too much of what she was saying about the marriage, if anything, and not realizing it and this was warning you that you were getting skewed in your view of marriage/your parents marriage/your family. It could be the fairy was your rational self knowing that your mother's complaints about another woman weren't quite right, were more extreme/from the wrong point of view, etc.

I'd experiment and go talk with your father some, now that you are older, maybe even tell him the dream and see what he things, then maybe repeat the process with your mother, she how they respond as individuals, not as your parents.
