lizarrage709 Welcome to PC. I was diagnosed around a month ago. I came here looking for information on ADD before I went to see someone to find out. YYZADD was the one who helped me out and was my sounding board. He is really great and knows his stuff.

As YYZ has said. There is no need to fear the meds or the diagnosis. Let me tell you. Finding out at your sons age is actually going to be better for him, since hopefully he probably has not really had a long time to develop bad habits that can develop later on in life as you get older. Finding out now will help bring out who he is and what he likes and give him a headstart on what interests him and what he likes to do instead of doing things on a whim or may be interesting to him at the moment but not truly what he wants to do. Basically give him the chance to find where his true passions are at and who he is. Give him the chance to shine brighter then he ever has.
