Thank you all for caring!
No meds in my hand yet... but the psychiatrist really knew what he was talking about. It was the first person we've seen who really listened to us, talking about meds. As he's seing it... there are 3 different groups of meds that can be used. We asked about side effects and he knew about that as well. He understood that our son has big problems controling his impulses... they've got too much power over him. He asked a lot of questions, to find out if our son also has got some sort of ADHD.
The psychiatrist was on our side when it comes to giving our son meds. He wanted to consult with his colleagues... about which medication would suit our son best. Next week we will talk to him again, to hear what he has to say.
He checked our son's blood pressure... length and weight... to know which dosage he should have.

Driving to the appointment was a horror ride! Our son was kicking, crying, screaming all the way. We had to drag him out off the car. He hit me all the way to the room where we met the doc and a special educationist. A social worker, came to the meeting as well. We sat down and he hit both me and my hubby right in front of the others looking. I think that was a "good" thing, because the at least got to see a tiny piece of his behaviour.

The psychiatrist also talked to me, about how I'm feeling about my diagnosis.

So next week is our new goal, for now.

Thank you for "listening" to me! You're amazing, all of you! I need you!
