I have. Twice.

I had my first depression in 9th grade. I didn't realize that it was that at the time. This was the early 70's. It was so bad I never went back to high school.
About two years into the episode, I became reclusive, lonely, and I thought I was some kind of monster.

On day this little girl, she was about 7. She knocked on the door and I answered. She had this huge smile. She said I am Angela, I go to your father's church can I come in. I said sure, she came in and gave me this huge hug. She said do you have a sister, no I said. She said I don't either, can I be yours. I said

From that moment on she came over every day. My memory is bad, but she is still my 'sister' and best friend today. She says I taught her yoga and we went on picnics in the woods in the neighborhood. I wasn't getting any medication, but I know it was Angela's unconditional love that pulled me out of that depression.

The second time was in the ER. I had taken too much of one of my meds. My husband didn't want to drive me. I took a cab. Waiting to be seen there was this Woman in her sixties sitting next to me. She started to talk to me. When she found out why I was there she became like a mother. She made sure I was seen right away, went into my ER room with me. I found out her name was Barbara Anne, that was my mother's name. She stayed till early into the morning and came to the medical floor with me. Her last name was Sojourner, which means traveler. As she came into my life, she left. I know that was mother's spirit in her.

My Angela, is very busy right now and hasn't had time for me. I pray every day for another Angel. I think it is the only thing that will save me.
I loved that story
Thanks for this!
