Not sure about finding out if your T believes you. Of course, if you ask I'm sure you'll, at the very least, get into a discussion about why you wonder if he believes you (even if you don't find out if he does).
No suggestions on the hugging. I would hate that myself, but no T has ever tried to hug me - must be a gender thing.
Just thinking of the lying and the hugging put together - I don't think I would hug anyone I thought was lying, but that's just me. Good luck.
