This seems harder for me now that I'm older.
I don't think it's even necessary to change the clocks for more daylight. The days are getting longer NATURALLY. It's an outdated thing to do, and they extended it too. Since a lot of farming is automated, it doesn't serve the purpose it used to!
I did find that eating a little earlier for a week before helped with the meal thing. (I wouldn't be hungry yet since it's too early, according to my stomach's clock ) Also, I tried getting up about 30 min earlier for a week before the change. This helped a little, but the wake up time is STILL brutal.
You'd think cause you are also going to bed an hour earlier, that it would all balance out. But I couldn't fall asleep since it was TOO EARLY for bed! So it'd take me 2 HOURS to get to sleep, then I'd have to get up an hour earlier!
No energy savings, since it's dark when I get up (hour early!), so I end up turning on more lights than I would have if we just left the clocks alone.
I'm sort of used to it now, but a couple of more days will do it.
