Children are amazing but they are also unpredictable, don't come with an instruction manual... bring up all of your own childhood issues... exhaust you...

so even though I think they are a blessing... I imagine someone with little experience with children (I babysat so much as a teenager) would find the whole thing anxiety inducing.... and overwhelming... and some would even say more work than it appears to be worth..

Its certainly not unimaginable that not everyone wants to go that route...
