I would submit to you that animals are not completely selfish. Wolves live in packs and care for each other as do ants and many other animals. No one can live our lives for us but that doesn't mean we have to always be alone. We are living in an extreme time. We are all connected. Our greatest accomplishments as humans were team efforts like defeating the Nazis, going to the moon, crossing the plains in wagon trains or even sailing to the new world. There is way too much put on independece and not enough on interdependence. Our culture is stupid and ugly.
