I really liked the article and found it funny, however I never realized just how casually the word "bipolar" was used by others until I was correctly diagnosed very late in 2007 after many years of suffering. I do think "trends" have something to do with it. The saying "he's nuts!" has been replaced by "he's bipolar! I think the only answer is education and even then there will probably always be a stigma attached.
