From what I have read there is a small chance if there is a family history. In saying that, people who are overweight are more inclined to develop diabetes. It sounds like the age old question of did the the chicken or egg come first.
I have been a type 2 diabetic for at least 5 years, it runs in my family and I am overweight. I have been taking 100 mg of Seroquel for at least a year now for sleep and my sugars have actually been running quite steady and at a good number.
As far as I know I have not gained any weight, as my clothes still fit and at times I think I have even dropped a few pounds. Everything in moderation, maybe Seroquel does make you more hungry, it doesn't mean you have to stuff your face either. It is what choices you decide to make, you can't always blame the medication you are on. It is called taking responsibility for your actions.
