Everything familiar ... began as something as something unfamiliar.
It takes time and presence - being there - for it to feel more comfortable. Talking about your expectations and her expectations could help lessen your worries about it. Talking about how hard it is, at the beginning of the session, has made it so that I can talk about something that I wanted to talk about, during that session.
It is more natural to resist that not to resist. It's something we do protectively, and T's know this and are not irritated or upset about it.
I think it's a coincidence that things have come up for her. Asking about this is fine and she would understand any of her patients wondering about it.
