I have hypothyroidism and had my thyroid checked one month ago, my tsh was .95, which is normal. At that time my binge eating was at its worse, I stopped binge eating and in 3 weeks lost 15 pounds (YEY!!) then my weight loss steadied at like 1.5 pounds per week, still happy, this seems like a healthier weight lose, the initial, big loss was probably water weight. My doctors diagnosed me with binge eating disorder and bipolar type 2. I am on topamax, lamitical, and trazodone (for sleep), Klonopan (for sleep & anxiety), and Celexa (for depression & anxiety). I have been taking 150 mcg of synthroid for the past year for my hypothyroidism and am still on that dose.
For the last 2 weeks, I have been gaining 2 pounds per week. I am following the meal plan my nutritionist gave me and exercising 30 mins a day 7 days a week. My muscles feel extremely weak. I sleep well at night but am extremely tired all day and have to take at least a 2 hour nap. my eyes feel gritty and hurt and just want to close. I often feel cold, but this could just be the weather. My stomach feels distended and seems to bulge out (I know I gained 35 pounds through the binging but my stomach and thighs are humungous...but maybe that is just how it distributed???). Basically I am so exhausted I feel like I can't do anything. I sort of feel like my thyroid might be out of whack. But that doesn't make sense since it was fine 4 weeks ago and the dose hasn't been changed.
I am really depressed that I am not losing weight, I really want to lose my binge weight, so not only am I not losing it but I'm gaining it back. Also I can't stay awake during the day, everything I do is such a struggle. I'm falling so much deeper into depression b/c I'm so tired, I'm getting fatter, I'm cold, I've have no vibe for life..
I also have type 1 diabetes.
Does anyone have any experience with any of the medical conditions I mentioned or just any advice as far as how to get through this time?
Does my body just have to get used to certain meds and after a week or two I'll be able to lose weight and have more energy?
Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
