I think some issues may stem from things other than mental illness alone and some may be physical health issues and even further some, may be energy related factors and I think it's all a combination of those things along with others.
I think that the problem with us as people, is that so many of us approach it all from a single minded perspective and therefore we never are healed because we only look at one aspect of our whole. What I mean is, one person may believe it's a health related issue as in Physical health, and they go out and pick foods based on nutrition religiously, exercise like mad etc while another thinks it's chemical based and focus on that, trying to fix things solely with psychotropic drugs and therapy. Another may use metaphysics and energy related approaches. None fully find the "cure" so to speak because it's all related and ties into our issues.

Tell me about it.

I've spent a lot of time thinking of bpd as a behavioral thing mostly, so I was surprised to see all that when I started digging into chakras (for very different reasons). Now I'm thinking my earlier viewpoint was
way too simplistic. We need to start looking at things from a physical, mental, emotional,
and spiritual angle, instead of just mental, just emotional, etc. Of course, by we I mean me. I can't tell anyone else what to do.
But seriously. Eating disorders have to be treated physically and mentally. Depression can cause physical problems. A lot of disorders involve emotional issues. But how often does anyone look at the spiritual side of things? That's part of what inspired me to post this, and I've said more about it than any other subject so far!
