I'm sorry your therapist is not working for you. I can understand feeling angry. And changing is hard.

What kinds of therapists have you had previously? What kinds of therapy?

When you look for a new therapist, I suggest you look for a psychologist who specializes in childhood abuse. You may have to call a few until you find what you want. And let the new therapist know that you are not looking for short term therapy.

There is a lot of information out there you can find on Google about psychotherapy and types or models of psychotherapy as well as types of therapists and what their degree designation means. Also, look at the link under the Psychotherapy forum and the Dr's welcome message.

I'm sorry that your therapist is going a different direction than you want to go. I hope you will look and find someone who can work with you the way you want to. I think there is someone out there just for you.
