Anti-convulsants are often used as mood stabilizers as well. It seems to be an unbelievable connection (that between a mood disorder and a neurological disorder), but it is what it is.
Lamictal is very commonly given as a first line treatment for bipolar 2. It is FDA approved for Bipolar 1, but this does not make you bipolar 1. Rather, often psychiatric meds are used for indications other than their FDA approved ones because it's extremely expensive and not worth the drug manufacturer's time and money to run clinical trials in order to qualify the medication for a new official indication.
You are not a "seizure doll." Calm down, because you are, in fact, on medication suitable for bipolar disorder.
