I just wanted to say, it's your job to protect your kids. Just because your mother wants something, does not relieve you of your responsibility. She can say whatever she wants. But she is no longer the boss of you, and she is not the boss of your kids.

The way my brother handled it, he brought my nephew to my mother's house once a month for birthdays or holidays. I was invited too. That was it. Like it or lump it. I have never taken the kid to a movie, nothing. I don't think it's right, but I don't think I would have let my kids go with my (drunken-@$$) brother, if I would have had any kids, so I can't really complain, can I?!

So just do what YOU feel is best.
