Im taking a guess here that the reason you dont see any or very few people being mean to others here on psych central is because the rules here is support.. any mean /offending/hostile postings are removed. we have great moderators here that make sure that everything about psych central is focused on support. people may not always agree with what people post and thats ok, but name calling, mean stuff is just not allowed here...
that said given that I have reported some hostile/mean/ and otherwise against the rules postings, if the rules that are here were not here (which other sites do not have these support rules) and if we didnt have moderators (which many other sites do not have) psych central would probably be just like any other site on the internet...with everyone fighting and being mean to each other because they dont like each other or are having a bad day, or their meds are off, or because of the type of mental disorder...all kinds of reasons lead a person to lash out at another in mean ways.
