I've been in/out therapy for 20 years - childhood sexual/physical abuse. Current therapist is quiting on me because I don't want to be holistic - call upon the animal spirits to help me.... I'm soooooo mad.... I've been with her 3 years and she just blew me off because I want to do talk therapy...... Everyone in this city wants to do short term therapy - 6 months and out.... How can you resolve a childhood of abuse with 6 months???
So is there life without a therapist?
I'm about to find out and I'm scared!!!!!

YES................. there is defiantly life after the Therapist, but it is usually when the patient is ready to spread her wings and fly solo.
I would let this T go and look into finding a new T - for YOU do not need this particular T any more if she is ready to leave just because you do not believe in one of her treatment ways..... but then again why would you want to stay if you and her are on different levels right now?
I personally spent eight straight years in therapy and I had 3 different T until I found the one that worked for ME.... do not give up and keep the candle burning for your recovery, no matter how hard it may seem at times.
Goo Luck.....................
