I am a 3rd generation American. My great grandparents struggled and lived in the rat infested town of New Bedford. They were poor, worked their way out of it, never put out a hand or accepted help from the government. There is a HUGE difference, and this isn't the place to discuss it. I was bringing it up as an example because it really pissed me off.
