I wish I had met your friend early in my life. I did arrive at the same place she is at, on my own and independently of her, but only at age 42. It would have been better to have her attitude at age 15. Or at least 20+. On both occasions I did not invite guys (two separate guys) who were romantically interested in me and I was in them, especially the one I met when being 20+, but I considered it embarrassing to invite them to a messy apartment.

Good for both you and your friend to have the right attitude from the start.

But even for me, better late than never.
