Happy birthday!

I've got tulips to plant this year, too. If squirrels, chipmunks, or other critters are a problem in your yard, you might sprinkle a little ground red pepper on the bulbs before you cover them with soil. I've also heard planting daffodils in the same hole or close by surrounding the tulips can help keep the hungry critters away.

Other advice you got was spot on.

Good luck!
