My pdoc suggested melatonin, which is over the counter. She didn't want me to take trazodone anymore because you develop a tolerance to it (I was already beginning to) and because I'm already on enough damned meds that I may as well try something natural, hey? It seems to work alright as long as I also practice good sleep hygiene. Like not watching a ton of TV right before bed, or being on the computer forever (like I am right now). And as long as I go to sleep when I feel tired and not try to push through and do other stuff. Maybe ask your pdoc about it, see what they think.

In addition to melatonin you can try valerian. It is even in the form of a tea that Celetial Seasonings makes called Sleepytime Extra. It'll help relax you for sleep, but if it's your thoughts going a million miles an hour that's contributing, you need to shut them down some first, maybe with meditation or some such.
