I know how you feel, it's hard. I've been feeling the same way about my cat. I'm not supposed to be lifting more than 10lbs because I had back surgery and I live on 2nd floor. Litter is heavy! Canned food! I love my guy but feel like I can't do this. But my situation will get better, its been 5 months 1 more month and I think they will let me lift more.
If walking him is taking your back out, you need to take care of you. I agree w/ Bee2. If your daughter won't take care of him and you can't, find him a home. Maybe there is someone near you that could take him and you could still see him, if not at least you will know he is getting taken care of.
