I have the same dx. The rosacea spreads to the eyes from the rest of your face. Did they tell you to wash with baby shampoo? Not much you can really do, just try to improve your hygiene. Mine is not the best I know. But no I don't think they are bsing you. My aunt has rosacea also. She's glad, she was worried it was cancer.
