I had social anxiety as a part of generalized anxiety and depression that I was facing...I've overcome it to a great extent now. Like others before me have said, kept trying. Also, kept trying in small steps...don't aim for a huge change right away. I started off with small changes of making myself get out, talk a little to someone and then increase goals slowly.
