Look in to the Americans with Disabilities in the Workplace Act (or something similar) and see if an employer is required to make reasonable accomodations for people with this type of issue. I don't know if the law covers MH issues or not but it can't hurt to look and talk to your pdoc or therapist about it. If it does, consult with an atty or someone first (they offer free consultation a lot of the time) and go from there. It doesn't seem like it should be a bit deal if the accomodations could be made easily as you stated.
