Before I would spend the money to move again, I would make sure I had a job to go to. I am on private long term disability also. My status is re-evaluated every 2 years but if it is approved then I could possibly stay on it until I reach the age for eligibility for full social security retirement. Their thought is that once you reach retirement age you are no longer disabled from work as you are now retired. They did require me to apply for social security disability after I was on it for a year. When I was approved the amount they paid me was reduced by the amount SSDI paid me. So, my income stayed the same even though it now came from two different places.
