I don't think it's meant to be malicious. I think that it's just because the nature of the whole thing is flawed because it is based on observation.

Hopefully in the future it will be better. Our only solace is at least we live now and not like during the 1800s where they would just lock us up and let us sit in our own filth.

I completely understand not wanting to be misunderstood. I feel that a lot, too.
