Nobody has yet figured out a way to pass on some genes but not others, selectively. So the kids end up sharp but sometimes depressed.

I know you're right, Hammie. It is just so tough sometimes to watch from the sidelines as they go through their lives on a different path than the "norm". Yes, it is wonderful to have creative children who sometimes view the world a bit differently, but these qualities aren't always the ones that are celebrated by their classmates. Such is life!
