For years, I was on Prozac (SSRI) for panic attacks. It allowed me to lead a productive life. Then, I experienced a trauma which caused the panic disorder to return. Was switched to clonazepam (benzodiazepine), which made me feel like I was losing my mind. Eased off that and put on Zoloft (SSRI).

Panic disorder is under control, but I've had a horrible case of depression for the past two years. It was so bad that I hardly left my bed. A couple months ago, I saw a doctor, who increased the Zoloft and was given a referral to a psychiatrist, who "may want to change or supplement" my current medication.

After my experience with the clonazepam and another unknown medication 20 years ago, I am scared to death of changing meds.

I am very curious to know what meds or med combinations others are taking or have taken for depression or depression & panic disorder.

I do know that none of us are the same. What does or does not work for me may not be the same for others. But knowing what meds are commonly prescribed will help me to do some research so I can know what questions to ask when the doc suggests a certain medication.
