Hey 1hopfulgal,
What you said in your post is right when it
comes to meds? Each med works differently
on different people that's for sure! You are spot on
about that! All I can say is talk to your psychiatrist
document from day to day how the meds make you feel
then hopefully with the right kind of meds you'll feel more
level.
Once when I went to the V.A. mental health a Doctor there
told me that when meds are prescribed to any one individual that
its pretty much an experiment on how much to prescribe.
She pretty much said that. Which didn't leave me feeling at all
reassured let me tell you.
You mentioned the med colnazapham? I am prescribed that but I only take that
only when needed, which is to say my friend when I get really manic.
It works well, I was told that it is highly addictive however a one month supply lasts me 2 months which is good since I really hate taking pills in the first place but I have to have it with my bipolar + depression I get really bad!
Its probably a good thing that you can't take the clonazapham because of its addictiveness.
I also take Lamotrigine I got prescribed that during my stay at the UW inpatient psych ward late last year and it seems to help provided I take it everyday.
You may want to look up that last med I mentioned on WebMD.com
I feel you on the meds my friend. I had a real bad reaction one year when I was prescribed Wellbutrin (hope I spelled it right) it felt like I was on a steroid rage like those atheletes who take those awful steroids and get crazy.
Feel free to drop me a line if you like.
I feel your pain & understand.
I care too.
Also, try your best to avoid any alcohol it just does not mix with our illness & the meds.
Be well!
