That's close to how I see it, but instead of "being on the verge of not caring anymore and knowing nonetheless", it's more like knowing what I've survived, caring that the experience is part of my history, but that history no longer having the power to drive my feelings and behaviors and thoughts constantly and relentlessly as it once did. It is reaching the point where that history/experience/wrong has finally lost its power to define me.
