Apparently it plays some role. I read an article someplace... a long time ago. The article purported to help men assess the personality of their women based on the color of the underwear. At the time of reading the article, I wore simple white cotton underwear - the cheapest around. Well, according to the article, wearing white underwear - unlike any other color/print underwear - makes the woman completely cryptic. White is the only color that does not give the man any opportunity to "read" the woman. Black means she wants to be a bad girl, but white means nothing. It does not mean that the woman wants to be an angel - it means nothing. A puzzle with no solution... It basically means that the woman is tight-lipped (no pun intended) and does not want to reveal anything about herself.

I was stunned that my choice of underwear, which, I thought, was driven by a combination of total lack of creativity and a desire to cut on the costs, made me cryptic and unreadable.
