Not necessarily, but it is best you go over that with your pdoc and allow him to evaluate or re-evaluate you and arrive at the proper or exact diagnose.
Also, if you haven't had any bloodwork recently, have a check up,make a request to have thyroid function test(s), especially TSH levels, to help rule out if it's anything related to your physical being. Keep in mind too, if being female, hormonal shifts (monthly menstrual/menopausal) can have a huge affect on changing moods.
I may sound like I keep preaching the thyroid issue at this forum, but after years of mis-diagnose(s) from my GP and my former Internist, suffering with untreated (cause they only went according to the soon to be changed, "normal range levels" I was untreated and then undertreated, requiring a dose increase of Synthroid, grrrrrrrrrr! I hate to see anyone go through years wasted and over treated or mis treated depression and/or other disorders.
Once on the proper dose, and not increasing my psychiatric meds, the depression decreased.
Even my pdoc noticed improvment and told me the case of undertreated or untreated hypothyroidism can have a negative impact, resulting with depression or increasing the already existing depression.
Hyperthyroidism, can have a reverse affect, mania and/or increasing manic episodes, etc.
Okay, I'm stepping down from my soapbox, and encourage you to take this up with your pdoc, even mention having some bloodwork for thyroid function.
Take care now,
DE
