Hi PAYNE1 ~
I've just came to the realization recently that my mother has NPD so I can relate to an extent... If you get the chance to regain contact with your grandchild then definitely keep a journal or a log about the abuse so that it can be collected as evidence. If you see any bruises or scratches you could also document pictures. Or even if you have a voice/video recorder on your phone you could ask your grandchild general questions about their father/homelife. Have a stand of witnesses to their behavior as well.
Sadly these kind of people are extremely manipulative, great liars and are able to twist reality to suit their own purposes. You need to stay one step ahead, try to catch them in a lie (- also they are generally predictable). I sincerely hope that you win your court case and that your grandchild gets the love and attention that he deserves. Please let us know how you get on. Take care ~
